Envision a sport that…
Anyone, regardless of gender, age or size, can master
Achieves a cardiovascular/endurance workout while awarding you with a total body strength workout (leave the gym behind?)
Burns significantly more calories per hour than anaerobic threshold swimming, cycling, or running, and also develops balance and rhythm
Is completely non-impact
Can be performed at an easy cruise, at an anaerobic pace that you simply can’t maintain, or at any intensity in between
Feels cooler than running or cycling at the same ambient temperature
Has competitive opportunities if you are so inclined
Can be a moving meditation delivering a sense of peace and power with every stroke of the oar
Is practiced on days when the water is so beautiful and tranquil that you are totally relaxed at the end of the toughest workout
And days when ocean swells and chop add a whole new thrilling dimension
Rowing's totally addictive
Open Water Rowing is totally cool
