Ease of stowing and transport
Our innovative and proprietary folding riggers make the Echo and Islander the easiest and most convenient boat to set-up, transport and store. Simply fold open the riggers and insert the E-clip for fully functioning riggers. Fold in the riggers securing the sliding seat. A handy strap with clip keeps folding riggers in place and secures the sliding seat for transport in seconds. Use the folding riggers as easy carrying handles.
Echos take up half the space of traditional rowing shells and store and transport like a kayak.
Maintenance & Storage Tips
Echos are almost maintenance free. Oarlocks and seat do not need a lubricant. With a rolling axle there is no need to lubricate the wheels. To help seal the ports, it is recommended to put a small amount of vaseline on the outer edge of the ports where they meet the very small rubber gasket. A very fine compound can be used on the hull and deck followed with a high quality fiberglass sealer available at a marine store. We sell a product called Mirage. (note: wax has a tendency to build up and chalk in the sun). If you are storing your Echo outside, consider a UV protected boat cover and store hull side up. With little care, your Echo will provide a life-time of rowing pleasure.
